this a win for women

Women all over the world will win if France bans the burqa said a Muslim feminist commentator.,Christian Louboutin Sandals

There has been a debate going on in France for over a year about banning the Islamic veil the burqa from public places. The burqa is the full head and body covering unlike the Hijab which does not cover the whole body.

Polls have been carried out in France to gage the opinions of the public and the results do support banning the veil. Majority of people that want the ban do not really understand the religious meaning behind wearing the veil. All they see in their eyes is that girls are being classed as second class citizens, and are being hidden away from everyday life.

Most of these girls are controlled by men, they are not allowed to even visit a hospital unless a man is with them, they are not allowed to drive, and cannot travel alone. It is easy to criticise about something you don’t fully understand. However, if you decide to leave your own country and live in another one. Then don’t you think that you should try to fit into the new society. Wouldn’t your adhere to the rules of a country when your on holiday, what’s the difference if you decide to live in that country. This is the 21st century and to see girls’s faces covered in most European countries does not look or feel right,Alexander Mcqueen Shoes, yes people have the right to dress as they wish, but refusing to engage in normal European life appears to go against the grain. In the Europeans mind it looks like the girls are being isolated from the community, they will never learn to speak the countries language , they will never integrate into the society. In the European world you have your face open covering the face is disrespectful to them. The veil is not a religious requirement it is a choice and girls can still cover their modesty by wearing a Hijab. Where the Europeans draw the line is when you cover your face you cant have normal interactive dialogue.

If you were in a Buddhist country would you wear pumps in a temple? Off course not you would take them off as you are a guest in that country and should abide by the country rules. At the end of the day its common sense, and having respect for the country you are living in, not for traditions back in your original country.

On a lighter note and something that may have been overlooked, is the burqa just a fashionable item for Muslim girls? The burqa has been shown on some of the worlds top fashion runways,Timberland Boots, maybe its just the colour that need to be changed to get it accepted into a society that finds them oppressive.

In the meantime the French will continue to debate the ban in parliament. If the ban does get voted in it will make it illegal to wear the burka in public. It is understood that a fine will be introduced for those breaking the law. A jail sentence would be in place for men who make their wife’s wear the burka. If successful it is evident that other countries will follow with the ban. Belgium and Spain are already discussing a similar ban and Canada has also mentioned that they are considering a ban, but is this a win for girls?
